CPH Facts
Central Peninsula Hospital (CPH) is a Kenai Peninsula Borough (KPB) owned 49-bed not-for-profit acute care community hospital. As the first Planetree affiliated hospital in Alaska, CPH seeks to support and heal in all dimensions- body, mind and spirit. CPH provides a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and community services. Heritage Place, a long-term residential care facility located one block from the hospital, is home to around 60 residents. Serenity House is a 12-bed residential treatment facility. The Kenai Health Center provides outpatient laboratory and radiology services in the community of Kenai, 11 miles away. Two outpatient physical therapy locations serve patients in both Kenai and Soldotna. Central Peninsula Family Practice provides primary medical care to families throughout our community.
Our Community
The community of Soldotna is located on the Kenai Peninsula, 150 highway miles southwest of Anchorage. It lies 10 miles inland from Cook Inlet, and borders the Kenai River, which was voted the #1 Fishing Hotspot in North America by Field & Stream Magazine in 2004.
Average winter temperatures range from 6 to 24 F; summers range from 45 to 66 F with an average annual precipitation of 17 inches.
The area economy is highly dependent upon the industry services for Cook Inlet oil and natural gas drilling and exploration. Oil refining operations occur north of Kenai in Nikiski. Other important economic sectors include healthcare, sport, subsistence and commercial fishing, fish processing, government, timber and lumber, agriculture, transportation, construction, services and retail trade. Residents enjoy a high-quality lifestyle in a rural setting surrounded by the beauty of the Alaskan outdoors.
